Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in Valparaiso, Indiana, Bob Evans is a charming family restaurant that specializes in hearty American classics with a special focus on breakfast favorites and comfort food. Whether you're craving a cozy morning meal or a satisfying dinner, Bob Evans offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The friendly staff and family-centric vibe make it an ideal spot to gather with loved ones or enjoy a relaxed solo meal.

The menu at Bob Evans shines with seasonal highlights and timeless favorites. One standout is the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Farmer's Choice: two thick slices of battered cinnamon roll lavishly topped with cream cheese icing, powdered sugar, and whipped topping. Paired with your choice of breakfast meat and two farm-fresh eggs, along with a side of crispy hash browns, golden home fries, or fresh seasonal fruit, it’s a decadent start that awakens your senses with every bite. For a sweeter indulgence, the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Combo is another exquisite choice, layering rich flavors perfectly for those who adore a luxurious breakfast treat.

When it comes to savory options, the Dinner Bell Plates stand out for their comforting, homestyle appeal. The Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders come in a hearty three-piece portion, paired with crispy French fries, crisp coleslaw, and freshly baked bread—ideal for a satisfying meal. The Lemon Garlic Chicken, accompanied by home fries and broccoli, offers a delightful balance of zesty and wholesome flavors, while the classic Hand-Breaded Fried Chicken served alongside creamy mashed potatoes, gravy, and sweet corn evokes the essence of traditional comfort food. For a lighter serving, the smaller portion of Turkey & Dressing is a nostalgic nod to farm-style dining that impresses with each bite.

Don’t forget to save room for dessert: the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pie features a flaky crust filled with luscious, warm chocolate chip cookie dough, served alongside vanilla ice cream and drizzled with rich chocolate sauce—pure indulgence. The Glazed Blueberry Bread offers a sweet, fruity finish topped with cream cheese icing, and the Big Ol' Cinnamon Rolls are perfect for a quick sweet treat anytime.

The overall dining atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, though during quieter times guests have noted a chance to enjoy a more personal experience without feeling rushed. Some customers felt the ambiance was slightly disrupted by busyness outside their table, but the focus remains firmly on satisfying, delicious plates crafted with care.

The food was Amazing but the Service was not as good as it could have been. We were the only customers in the place and we were seated and orders taken right away. As soon as we were served our food, another waitress, not our waitress, immediately starts vacuuming right next to us while we're trying to eat. Coming so close with the vaccume to our table that we had to move our feet. She could have waited until we were done, and I found it to be very Rude! Aside from that it was a good visit.

Waited 10 minutes to place our order. Had to flag down another waitress to get refills on drinks. Our waitress had disappeared after serving our food. The food was good though. Love the banana bread

The food here is always fresh, delicious, and never fails to impress! No matter how weird my order is (mashed potatoes for breakfast anyone?) the team always does their best to provide me amazing service. I'm always greeted, almost never have to wait, and our servers are consistantly awesome. This place is great!!

Carrie provided excellent service, and the food was good. The initial seating at a wet table was a downside, with other tables dry.

Soup and sandwich. Pretty good food. But what tops everything is our server. She was honest and really good. It's great to have someone who appreciates their job. I don't know if I will return because I was passing through but I was very happy I came.

Melissa is back! Hot damn! She is truly “Bob’s Best”. Food was delicious, as always - ordered Sunshine skillet and meat omelet. Banana bread was so moist! Biscuits and gravy are the best around. Just a great group of people that work there! Always good quality food with good portions!

Surprisingly very good. I ordered the western omlette and a side of biscuits and gravy. The order came swiftly. The omlette was filled with fresh veggies and ham. The biscuits were light and fluffy and tasted great. The gravy, while it didn't look appetizing, was very good. The coffee was good also. Overall, I had a great breakfast and the service was awesome.
